duets with kenny millions, solo compositions + a daniel johnston cover.
Schramm's fourth full-length begins with a serialist third stream powerhouse trio and moves on to her solo "painting-musik".
Irrefutably one of the best musicians alive, Kenny Millions wrote about "no mor no mor musik" (for trio)
when I was hanging out with Cage 40 years ago and attended many of his performances I learned from the master about - awareness, sonic conscientious, detachment and transcendence of one's personal performance experience. When our historic event (this recording session was happening) I saw the possibility of a release someday as something to look forward to. I'm very happy that it finally came to be.
99% of the shit I hear coming out from the people who claim to be hip is over-hyped, over-produced, over-rehearsed, over-technical, too many fucking notes, riffs, premeditated, trying too fucking hard to "get over" bullshit. No fucking honesty. Just sucking v.i.p. scrotum...
NN wrote this about the same trio composition:
i knew you had the brains to consciously accept the transgressiv nature ov allowing our personal souls to be made naked thru the inclusion ov our actual arguments and the uncontrived vocal tones ov speech, and laughter, which is Adriane's contribution which sort ov 'cuts' the disagreeable quality ov listening to musicians disagree, the divulging ov REAL, that is "verite" elements as a sort ov mean/trippy travelogue in which both the process and the idiom ar so hard-core minimal, that the production is the production.
notice that the three(?) di- and trialogues that sandwhich the trancey instrumental sections that define the arc ov the entire session, a session whose segments act naturally as movements.
The trio's inter-disagreement has an arc too, and each section concludes with a salient utterance.
The arc ov our argument is:
1. You and Adriane realize I intend to "conduct" this recording (minutes after I invite you to make the recording.)
2. I try to convince you to allow me to conduct you
3. I giv up and split ("door close") and you then change your mind and giv me permission to "conduct"
4. Adriane starts laughing at the situation because she suddenly realizes the humorous conceptual aspect ov ut.
I like ut when you and Adriane begin to 'smear' the pallette ov tone colors, until it's that grey-purple mess one gets when one combines all the colors, and then you pick the bright spikey notes that ebgin to stick out ov the blob.
